Temple Network Failover Process

Firewall Failover

1. Move the Primary ISP cable from WAN port 2 on the failed primary firewall to WAN Port 2 on the spare Firewall

2. Move the Secondary ISP Modem from WAN port 4 on the failed primary firewall to WAN Port 4 on the spare firewall

3. Move the cable from WAN Port 3 on the spare firewall to WAN port 3 on the failed firewall. (this is to keep the failed firewall online to troubleshoot if possible)

4. Move the cable from LAN Port 9 on the Failed Firewall to LAN Port 9 on the spare Firewall.

5. In CNM perform a "Firewall Failover" by clicking the Failover button on the Spare Firewall menu.

6. In CNM, rename the spare firewall as the primary firewall.


Distribution Switch Failover

1. Move all cables from the failed MS410 Distribution Switch to the spare MS410

2. Move the cable from Port 17 on the Failed primary to port 17 on the warm spare

3. Move the cable from port 18 on the spare Distribution switch to port 18 on the failed Distribution switch (this is to keep the failed firewall online to troubleshoot if possible)

4. In CNM perform a "Distribution switch" failover by clicking on the "Failover" menu option.

5. Rename the spare switch as the primary switch


Access Switch Failover

1. Move each cable from the failed access switch to the same port number on the spare switch

2. Fiber SFP in Port 25 should be connected to a port on the MS410 Distribution switch

3. The cable in Copper SFP Port 26 must be disconnected from the main MS210 access switch

4. In CNM perform a "Access switch" failover by clicking on the "Failover" menu option on the spare Access Switch.

5. Rename the spare switch to the failed access switch
