Flickr

Flickr is a large repository of photos taken by a large number of users, like Youtube, anyone can load up any photos they have taken, caption them, and make them available for others to view, or if they choose, to allow someone to use themselves.

Uploading Photos

Uploading photos themselves is not as hard to do as uploading to Youtube, as the photo file size is much smaller. However, you may still find you have to deal with issues that you find only after you have taken the shot, so a basic photo editing software package such as the free 'Gimp' software, is a must for anyone taking photos and preparing them for uploading to Flickr. The best known of the paid software programs is Adobe Photoshop, which Gimp emulates to a degree.
