Upload the required photos into CNM with appropriate labels that identify the location of the rack or device. Upload floor layouts with the locations of each technology room identified. Upload any available network diagrams that will support future network troubleshooting.
Photos that should be uploaded for each network:
- Photo of each network rack or cabinet with the surrounding walls or other nearby items. This provides the context of the rack locations in each technology room or closet.
- Photo of the back side of each rack showing power cords, stacking cables etc.
- Close and direct photos of the top, middle, and bottom portions of the rack. Make sure any equipment labels are visible and clear. This also provides the network team with a view of any extra space in rack for potential future growth.
- Close and direct pictures of the firewalls and switches with labels. This allows one to see how many ports are open on each switch.
- Photos of PDU power connections
- Photos of the ISP (internet provider) equipment such as the cable modem, cables, etc.
- Photos of the ISP Demarc wall.
- Photos of Temp sensors, grounding, house power for UPSs, and external TR cabinets.
