Kindoo Remote Access

#21

Post by dcbishop »

Quick question. Our stake is saying the remote access capability is not available. I’ve read the other threads and can see that a ‘Kin Controller” (essentially a Raspberry Pi programed with Kindoo software to simulate a mobile phone) is installed for such remote access. My question is: is this an optional remote opening capability and our Stake may have ‘opted out’ of this feature? Between the evening Family Search Center workers and a couple of dozen Activity Day leaders (we have four large family wards in this building), remote access may be the only way around the 30 code limitation our stake is placing on the wards. Any thoughts?

The Kindoo controller is optional. We stopped installing them in our FM group because they proved unreliable and were not really needed with the ability to have temporary users. We also specify 50 users for stake leadership and 30 for each ward. So far that has been more than sufficient. You can see in the Kindoo app which users are not using the app. Typically, about 20-30% of users seem to fall into that category. We instruct the stake Kindoo managers to verify whether those users intend to use (or need) the app. If not, they can be removed and the license transferred to another user.
